WHAT IS THE GPS RANGER?

The GPS Ranger is a rentable video tour guide system for providing informative, entertaining and navigational information for visitors to a wide range of venues.

Utilising the Global Positioning System (GPS) it can be programmed to deliver information at specific programmable locations seamlessly and repeatedly. This provides visitors with a more enriching, varied and educational experience as well as offering several additional options for generating income for the venue.

FEATURES INCLUDE:

Information can be triggered at any outdoor location automatically and indoor using the touch screen.

Different content can even be triggered at the same point of interest depending upon the direction that the visitor approached the attraction. At the start of a tour, for example, a "welcome" message can be played. If the end of the tour passes through the same location the ranger can be programmed to play a "thank you for coming" message instead of the "welcome" message.

The system is non-invasive - no additional antennas or signs are necessary so there are no additional costs or maintenance issues. Content for indoor locations can be viewed by selecting them on the sunlight viewable touch screen.

The multimedia content can include video, audio, text, still frame pictures, animation, voice overlay and musical background score or any combination of these. The sum of all of this content is an entertaining and informative tour for your visitor.

The ability to display GPS enabled digital maps shows the visitor where they are in the venue. It answers the simple question, "Where am I ?" and "How do I get from where I am to a particular attraction or facility?”, such as the toilets, restaurants or other facilities

EASY TO UPDATE:

The GPS Ranger can be programmed to display daily information such as regular activities, timetables, reminders, special events, and other calendar functions. Any or all of these items can be updated online directly by the venue operator. The system will then automatically update all the units at a particular site overnight.

The GPS Ranger also supports time based announcements. It can be programmed to alert the user that a special event is about to occur and then show the visitor how to navigate their way to the particular attraction.

Attractions and details of events often change over time so the system also allows for content to be changed easily and often if required. The system is web enabled so changes to the content do not have to be made by a specialist content provider but can be made by any authorised person with access to an internet connected PC.
